Sensitive Areas

When psoriasis occurs in sensitive areas it can look different. Instead of the usual scaling seen in other areas, it looks bright red and shiny. It can also be painful and uncomfortable, as well as embarrassing. Some topical creams or ointments used to treat psoriasis are unsuitable to apply to the sensitive areas of your body and can cause irritation to your skin.

Where is it found?

Sensitive areas include under breasts, under arms, between the buttocks, and in the groin and genital areas. They also include the face and hairline.

Who gets it?

Psoriasis in sensitive areas can affect anyone who has psoriasis.
