There are a number of treatments available to help manage the symptoms of AS. These are described in more detail in this section.

The sooner someone with AS can gain access to specialist rheumatology care, the sooner their AS can be effectively managed and an appropriate treatment plan started.

There are a range of treatments available for AS, the treatment prescribed will depend on each person’s condition. These treatments may help to:

  • Relieve painful symptoms
  • Slow down how quickly the disease develops
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Maintain mobility
