Questions you may want to ask
Appointments with your healthcare team are an important part of your treatment. To make sure that you get the most out of them, it is a good idea to prepare yourself beforehand. If you are worried that you might forget to ask something, why not make a list of the things you would like to know and take this with you to your appointment? Here are some suggested questions you may like to ask members of your healthcare team:
- What treatments are available for psoriasis?
- What are the benefits of a particular treatment?
- How do you decide which treatment is best for me?
- How long will my treatment take to work?
- For how long will I need to have this treatment?
- What happens if I stop taking my medication?
- What side effects might I experience from my treatment?
- Where do I find details of local patient support groups?
If you do not understand the answer to any of your questions, ask for more explanation. It is fine to say ‘I don’t understand’.
